Position Overview:
Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, the Junior Drive Systems Engineer will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to develop, test, commission, and support industrial drive and automation systems.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer/technologist who is looking to build a career in industrial automation, drive control systems, and machine control. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and mentorship from industry experts while working on a wide range of projects involving AC and DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and coordinated drive systems used in continuous web processing applications.
You will participate in all phases of projects including design, programming, testing, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support, providing a unique opportunity to gain practical experience across multiple engineering disciplines.

What You’ll Do: 
Working under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads, you will:
·        Assist in the development and implementation of PLC, HMI, and drive control software
·        Participate in system design, testing, and validation activities
·        Support factory acceptance testing and system commissioning
·        Assist with startup activities at customer sites
·        Troubleshoot industrial control systems, drives, and automation equipment
·        Work closely with project managers, engineers, technicians, customers, and vendors
·        Provide technical support during project execution and service activities
·        Ensure project deliverables meet quality and schedule requirements
·        Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

What You Bring: 
·        Diploma or degree in:
o  Electrical Engineering Technology
o  Electrical Engineering
o  Mechatronics Engineering
o  Robotics & Automation
o  Industrial Automation
o  Or a related technical discipline
·        Recent graduate or up to 3 years of relevant experience
·        Strong interest in industrial automation and drive systems
·        Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
·        Effective verbal and written communication skills
·        Valid driver's license
·        Valid passport or ability to obtain one
·        Ability and willingness to travel for commissioning and customer support activities
·        Co-op, internship, or work experience in industrial automation or manufacturing
·        Exposure to PLC programming platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems
·        Familiarity with HMI software and industrial communication networks
·        Experience reading electrical schematics
·        Knowledge of AC motors, DC motors, and VFDs
·        Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters or oscilloscopes
